The Life Of A Stay At Home Mommy

Trust in Me.

Of course I woke up this morning in a complete panic over all the things that need to be done. So much that I made myself sick! Per husbands orders, I have tried to take it easy after church and do some praying. I opened up my daily devotional and this is what it said, "When something in your life or thoughts makes you anxious, come to Me and talk about it. Bring Me your prayer and petition with thanksgiving, saying, "Thank You, Jesus for this opportunity to trust You more."

For now, I am going to give my anxiousness to God and start thinking about the many memories that are going to be made in this very room!
*This picture is from when the previous owner lived there. Many changes to come!

Who does that?

I am pretty sure I won't be blogging a whole lot coming up here pretty quick. As of yesterday we finally own our house! Tomorrow we receive the keys and then let the fun begin! Floors are coming out first, then paint, then floor moulding, then new light fixtures, then wallpaper, then weinscoating and hopefully some unpacking!!!!

My sister in law Becky is coming on Thursday to help me paint! woohoo! I couldn't be more excited. We are having alot of much needed help coming and I so appreciate it!

Speaking of my sister in law Becky, she created this most adorable apron for Riley. And get this, it was a party favor for my nieces 5th birthday party! Who in their right mind makes aprons as a party favor? My sister in law does! She is beyond talented and can whip up about anything! Most of Rileys hair bows are made by Becky. I have been telling her for about 2 years now that she needs to start selling these things, but with 3 kids, I am sure thats not a huge priority!!

I hope I get a chance to upload some new pics of the work being done on the house, but don't count on it for a while!

I may cry all day...but that's ok!

These are the things I want to cry about today and all are happy tears;

1.I keep getting a vision of Riley running around in a summer dress in our new backyard. She has waited so long to have a yard of her own!
2. My husband felt Avery kick for the first time lastnight. Then he continued to kick his daddys hand for about AN HOUR! Jim welled up with tears, as did I!
3. I have a scratch on my hand, Riley walked up with her Handy Manny plastic screw driver and said, "Mommy, you have an ouchie, I fix it." She then placed her plastic screw driver on my hand as if she was healing me! She has the sweetest soul and I am so blessed to be her mom.
4. A miracle happened in my life yesterday that I have prayed about for almost 20 years. I was reminded of how BIG GOD IS!
5. My husband adores me.
6. I feel closer to God now than I ever have in my life, it feels so good and makes me urn for more!
7. I love looking at my brother playing with Riley. I always knew he would be an amazing uncle but he has blown my mind away!
8. I cannot wait to meet my little boy. I can't wait to play in the mud with him and do "boy things" and then cuddle on the couch with him.
9. I may cry more when I see my husband mow HIS lawn for the first time. He is older than me and has waited a long time for his own house.
10. I have waited my whole life to feel how I do now!!
11. I literally have the most amazing family a girl could ask for. We laugh, cry and fight but at the end of the day we really love eachother.

Thats all for now, I could go on forever but I have lots of packing and daydreaming to do!

Just Tired.

I woke up this morning not feeling so hot! Nothing even close to how I was feeling 5 weeks ago but still just not myself. This past couple of weeks have been CRAZY. I have been instructed by my husband to stay home and lay on the couch (at least while the little one is sleeping). We went to music class this morning and then the final walk thru on our new home. My only job for today is browse the internet for decorating ideas and transfer all utilities in our name.

I feel like we are living in chaos right now. This, I do not do well! I look around the house and it's really not that bad but my personality has a hard time with clutter. But the most important thing right now is that I remember I have a baby cookin' and I really need to take care of myself. So on my booty is where I will be for the next couple of hours while Riley sleeps...

Totally random picture. It's a picture of part of our new backyard. Thats the inground hot tub that will soon become the kids' new sandbox =)

I have gotta have this!

Ever since I started reading this blog http://nieniedialogues.blogspot.com/ I have been obsessed with silhouettes. And when my sister in law came home with silhouettes of her children from Disneyland I knew I needed to get them done of the kiddos. I have been looking on etsy for sometime now trying to find the best deal. I knew this wasn't going to be cheap but I figured I could spend $100 (including silhouettes and frames) on a picture/painting for the wall or I could spend around $100 on these. Riley has my moms silhouette framed in her room from when she was only 13 years old! This is one of those items I would grab if there was a fire! I still haven't convinced my husband that this is a MUST yet, but we will see! I think they would look great in black chunky frames against the wallpaper we just purchased.
I found this set of three for $45.00 plus $5.00 shipping!
P.S. Lets get real here, I don't know all the ins and outs of a blog and have no idea how to add a link or position a picture. Can anyone help!?!

A touching moment...

A few weeks ago I received an email from my husbands best childhood friend. It was titled, "An essay about my bestfriend Jim." We had dinner with him a couple of nights before and I was drilling him with questions about what my husband was like when he was younger. You see Jim and his bestfriend have always been somewhat of opposites. When they get together it's like no time has ever passed and they are quick to start reciting movie lines from the 80's. Being that Jim and I are 12 years apart, I never understand what they are talking about, but I have always appreciated how this friend can bring the little boy out of my husband.

As I read the email, I cried. He really was expressing his appreciation over the years for my husband. I already know all these things about Jim but I really loved hearing it from someone else. I knew this was not an easy email to write, sometimes we don't like to seem vulnerable and express how we really feel about someone but what Jim's bestfriend taught me that day was life is too short to not tell the people you love, that you love them!

To my family and friends, I love you guys so much. I appreciate you all everyday and I am blessed to have you in my life!

Wallpaper Galore!

I have been searching for the perfect grey and white wallpaper for only, hmmmm, a couple of months now! I finally decided on a style that I would like. So, today we went and ordered our wallpaper. I was so excited to see that it was 30% and free shipping! I am currently obsessed with grey and white. I think it's so relaxing and can be romantic! Paired with a sparkly chandelier and I'm in Heaven! It's going to go on an accent wall in our formal living room, above some weinscoating. It's actually a formal dining room but we would like to have another living space. We don't really have a need for a formal dining room at this time but we do have the option of moving our dining room table in there if we have a big dinner. Our table I think can hold up to 10-12 so it may take up the whole room! But we have a big family so I am sure at some time it will come in handy.
This is not (I couldn't find the picture) but this is very similar to what we chose.
I can't wait to post pictures of our new house and how we have chose to decorate. Just like many, we are on a major budget so I am looking for ways to make a BIG BANG for a little buck. We are hoping to have a home that our family will enjoy coming over to visit!

Tuesday.

We have been busy busy busy getting ready to rent our condo out. So much that lastnight I couldn't even walk, my tailbone hurt so bad! Good news is, I put the ad out yesterday and we've already received many calls and are showing it tonight! I am praying for the perfect tenant!
On a side note, I want this light fixture but I know deep down it doesn't really go with the rest of my decor but it's so cute!!! We receive the keys to our new house one week from Sunday and I can hardly wait! Unfortunately, we are having all new floors put in so I won't be able to move in until around the first week in March. We are having wood floors put in the entry way, kitchen and breakfast nook and then carpet in the rest of the house. It should be really beautiful!!!! Pictures to come!
The chandelier is from Modern Chic Home

Dear Riley,
Two years ago today I was sitting at home wondering if what I was feeling was contractions! I was nervous and really excited. At 2am tomorrow your daddy drove me to the hospital. I was only 3cm and to be honest, my contractions had stopped. I hadn't slept in a really long time so the midwife advised me to take Tylenol PM and snooze a little. Daddy and I laid in our hospital room wondering if it was really time. At 5am my contractions started again, I would fall asleep in between contractions, which were every 4 minutes. Finally at 8am, our midwife came in to check me and I was 6cm. She said, "Go ahead and let your family know, the baby is on her way!" We were in shock! After a couple of phone calls the family started arriving. We all hung out in our room, watching my favorite movies, Oceans 11 and Oceans 12. Daddy and I walked alot, up and down the parking lot and all around the hospital. I sat on the big blue bouncy call alot and tried to picture myself pushing you out. Fast forward to around 6pm, the midwife broke my water and it was on! You were coming full speed and I was nervous. I just remember saying in my head, "Lord, help me" You see, I knew I was in labor this whole time but once I was fully dilated reality hit that I would need to push. you. out! Daddy did not leave my side through one single contraction. If he had to go to the bathroom, he would run in real fast, go and get back to me as soon as he could.
After I pushed for over an hour, the midwife said, "Go ahead and pull your baby out." I reached down and it was the first time I touched you.
I have always known how much God loves me but I never could quite get it. I still don't but what I do know is this, He loved me enough to bless me with you. You helped me grow up. You loved me from the moment you came out. You have helped me be a better person, be more compassionate, more forgiving. You brought my mom and I back together. You amaze me everyday. You are brilliant, beautiful and smart. You love your daddy so much. You love your big brother so much! I cannot imagine ONE DAY without you in my life. When I am away from you for 10 minutes, I miss seeing your face and hearing your voice.I find myself looking at pictures of you all the time and reminiscing about all the fun things we have done since you have come into our life. I pray that daddy and I can give you the life that I never had and I am not talking monetary possessions, I am talking about a home where God is the center.
I can't wait for many more birthdays with you little one. I love you so much, Love Mommy

Please?!?!

Can I please have this room? Just a mommy getaway. One where I can sew without a 2 year old grabbing my legs and wanting to touch all the needles and bobbins? Can I please have this room so I can read my bible and actually hear myself think? Can I please have this room so I can shut the door when the kids are driving me crazy? My husband says I will have my space someday but for now, I enjoy being bugged every five minutes by my kids! ;)

My little Monkey

I have been a little MIA lately in the blogging world. My days have been filled with organizing the house, getting ready for the move, running after my almost 2 year old and an occasional shower. I am 20 weeks along and finding it hard to keep up with Riley.

We decided not to do a party this year because lets get real here, I am exhausted! And we are moving soon and lets just say, my house is a little scary at times. I had the idea of taking her to the zoo to celebrate her birthday. So we made the hour and a half trip to the zoo and I have to say, this was the best idea ever! We went on superbowl Sunday and there was nobody there! We could let her run around and not have to worry about her getting lost in the crowds. It was great! I had been asking her for weeks what animal she wanted to see the most, she would always say "kangaroo." But something came over her and when we got there, all she could think about was snakes! Luckily they had a red-tailed boa snake on display and she was allowed to pet it as much as she wanted. We practically had to rip her away from this huge snake. Jim was such a proud daddy that his little lady loved touching a snake. He said that was the highlight of his day!

We are hosting a family pizza party tonight for her birthday. I really wanted to make a fun cake so I found that you can get fondant at Michaels. Can I say, it tastes yucky but it looks great! Pictures to come later.

2

I have to admit I was slightly disappointed when I finished her birthday outfit. But she said to me, "Mommy, I love my birthday outfit!"
The pictures actually don't do justice to how cute the outfit is. I am hoping to get some outside so I can share it all with you! I can't believe my baby is going to be 2 soon. The past two years have been the best of my entire life, these are the years I have been waiting for!
